Conducting Accident Investigations

This class examines accident investigation as a means to prevent injuries, property damage and financial loss. Despite the best safety programs and intentions, accidents occur. Consequently, safety professionals must be able to discover root cause for accidents and to take corrective action to prevent recurrence.

This course is designed to answer the six basic questions of accident investigation: who, what, when, where, how and why through the use of real-life case studies. The course curriculum includes discussions on:

Who Should Conduct Investigations
Effective Data Collection Techniques
Effective Interviewing Techniques

Courses are designed for beginners and for seasoned safety professionals. Professional Safety Institute courses may be taken individually or as part of certified programs. Students are strongly encouraged to take Establishing a Successful Safety Program or Selling Safety before taking any other Professional Safety Institute course.
